Cramming your website full of your favourite keywords and phrases does not make you a master SEO strategist nor will it do much to improve your website's ranking with the Search Engines! As well as making your content impossible to read for actual visitors (if you get any) the Search Engines will quickly determine that you are trying to fool them - and not help them!

To help you avoid making similar mistakes when Optimising your website, we have developed this short list of Website Optimisation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does SEO stand for?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization or Search Engine Optimisation. Croan.ie use a variety of techniques, to optimise your website based on keywords or key phrases appropriate to your business. When done correctly, SEO means that your website will be returned by a Search Engine when someone searches for that term. The aim is to have your website appear (or Rank) in the first position on the Search Results Page on Google and other search engines so that your site is easily found and the number of visitors increases.

What is a keyword?

A keyword is a term or phrase that someone may enter into a search engine when they are looking for a product or service. You should optimise your website for the words and terms that are appropriate to you and your business but also ones which convert in to sales if your site is a commercial enterpsise!

How can I check how many searches per day, week or month certain keywords get?

How much will Search Engine Optimisation cost?

Normally Croan.ie charge a once off audit fee. This covers a full audit of your existing site to establish how much work will be required to optimise your website for your business vertical.

Do you use any Black Hat methods that could result in my website being banned from the search engines?

Absolutely not! We only ever us White Hat techniques that comply with search engine regulations - beware of some companies who offer 'network building' or 'link building' services!

How long will it take you to get my site into the top 10?

That depends on a number of factors, but we will give you a timescale before the work commences.
